Beautiful 'Mountain Greenery' Awaits Patti!

Patti Page (1927 to 2013), one of the most popular singers of the 1950's, passed away yesterday at age 85. This is the voice that gently welcomed soldiers home at the end of WWII. She was also the first vocalist to overdub herself - way before this became common practice for pop singers. And trooper that she was, she was still working and touring well into the 2000's.

The thrill is still with us!

Love Patti. But the jury' s still out on overdubbing. Considering what followed, maybe it wasn't such a hot idea.

I didn't realize it was still out, but, yes, overdubbing has been taken a bit far. Waaaaay too far.

oh my goodness ... can you please re-up the Patti Page Box? I don't know how it could be I missed your site for so long, as there haven't been any sites such as yours up since the great blog come-down of 2007. Anyways its nice to see yours! .. it's a cheerful little earful, & I missed it something fearful!

just realized - Patti's "Hi-Fi" album has a few tracks edited for the stereo edition which is all that is available, as far as I know.
