Bah! Humbug!

"You will be haunted by three spirits! I warned you! I shan't come again!"

Yikes. It's Christmas Eve. Time for Scrooge to learn his lesson - again. But this time with a persuasive cast of radio players, Basil Rathbone as "Scrooge," creepy music by Leith Stevens, and the entire story told in a swiftly entertaining 23 minutes. So beware! Beware! Or be doomed to wander without rest or peace, condemned to do so forever after death (they didn't fool around back then)!

Jingle this way, jingle that way, jingle any way you can!

Happy Christmas!
Have to say, my all-time favourite growing up was the Rich Little Christmas Carol

This Basil Rathbone version is a cherished childhood memory. I had it on an LP with "Treasure Island" (with Robert Newton) on the flip side. Scariest moment: "Those are the lost souls ... "

That sound still causes an elevator drop in the midsection.

I'm so happy you're all enjoying Basil. I listened to it when I was a kid, too. I don't have the "Treasure Island," unfortunately, but now I'm intrigued...
