It's a sad day for lovers of beauty, class and intelligence. Anna Karina, Godard's muse and so much more - novelist, singer, fashion icon - has sailed off into the belle bleue French skies.
You can re-live several of her triumphs - like "Alphaville" and "A Woman Is A Woman" (both of which still astound) - included in this fabulous Godard soundtrack collection, which has some of the best New Wave cinema jazz and orchestral music ever recorded. Go gently, Madame Karina. You will be missed.
